We。A rare 1950s MR JOHN “Excelllo” by Geo W Bollman couture hat, constructed on a blush wool base and finished with an elaborate feather crown. This piece represents the collaboration between two important names in mid-century millinery: Mr. John—famed New York and Paris designer—and Bollman, America’s oldest hat manufacturer known for high-end production. The blush wool brim forms a soft, sculptural foundation supporting a full feather dome in mottled browns, golds, and tawny tones. Strategically placed pale-pink accent feathers create a controlled directional flourish, a hallmark of 1950s couture floral and feather work. Every feather is hand-applied, with the dome maintaining its original dimensionality and density. Interior markings include: • MR JOHN New York Paris woven label • Excelllo 100 Percent Wool Made in USA stamp • Geo W Bollman & Co insignia This is a preserved, collectible mid-century millinery example suited for museum display, editorial styling, high-end collectors, or period wardrobe use.
